Galt games – the new favourite

Just before Sam’s birthday I was invited to review a toy from Galt. Sam had quite a few Galt toys when he was a baby but as he’s got older we’ve tended to get caught up in all the character tat that’s around so we’ve been  a bit Galt light lately.

Sam has a great memory (sometimes not a good thing when he’s relaying stories to my parents) and loves shopping (with me as a mother he had little choice but to enjoy it) so we chose the memory game: Gone Shopping. It’s a simple idea that has Sam captivated at all times. Up to 4 players have a shopping list (little market stall each with a different theme, clothes, bakery etc) and you lay all the other cards upside down. You turn the cards over to match what you have in your stall. The first to complete their stall wins!

Sam beats us hands down! As I said his memory is excellent so woe betide anyone who turns over one of his cards. On the next go he’s straight in there!

It’s sturdy, well made and looks good. You do have to be careful not to lose any of the pieces, or like me you’ll have to spend 2 days rummaging through the car (we liked it on a long journey too), toy boxes & under sofas until you find or you’re child will be ‘so sad Mummy that we can’t play my shopping game’. Thanks goodness we found them!

Would I buy it? Yes I would. We love playing it. I’ll definitely be buying more Galt games for him now.

(I was sent this game free of charge but all opinions are my own)

Lovely, simple review. Reminded me of a very similar game I lived when I was that age.

Thank you! I loved playing memory games when I was little.
